Wow! That makes me feel terrible!
Moving on ...
Can you believe that? We are into the last month of 2025 already. Only twenty-four more days to Christmas and I am absolutely not organised at all this year. I am miles behind myself and lagging in energy nog al!
In fact, I even got up later this morning. I was awake at four o'clock and then I was not. I rolled out of bed at just after five o'clock instead. Tsch! Tsch! Gail Morgan you are slacking woman!
I am putting this down to the heat and NOT to my age, okay!
This morning the top shed was a hive of activity once Matt', Ethan and Codie arrived - all packed up from their "Survivors Weekend" or as Matt' named it aptly - "Udder Chaos"! They also loaded the generator and took all the paraphernalia used over the weekend to the bottom shed before leaving the farm to head down to the Central Coast and their respective homes.
Ken left the farm just before the boys did, as he had to get that gas regulator so that we can use the gas and have hot water again, and he ordered more water, which will only arrive tomorrow morning, but at least we know it will be coming.
Ken also had to buy potting mix for Paddy to be able to plant as many trees as he can. I am sure there was something else Ken had to do but for the life of me I cannot remember what!
I have spent the day starting to clean out my studio. I moved everything around, dusted, wiped, swept, but could not mop as we have no water.
In this heat the spiders move down off the roof (there is no ceiling in my studio, just the roof lined with insulation foil), so they move down the walls and spin their sticky webs all over my things. The eight-legged irritations! My apologies go out to the spiders in my studio for removing their webs today. "Sorry guys!"
To finish sorting out my studio will take me several days as I need to sort out books, papers, art supplies, files, et cetera too while I am busy up there.
Paddy came up to the top shed just before Ken arrived home again - it was about two o'clock and very hot outside, So Ken went off for his siesta, Paddy to read and cool down a bit and I wrapped the gifts I will be giving to the children leaving Primary School off to High School next year. I tried to wrap these books in a fancy way, but it was a bit like rubbing my tummy and patting my head at the same time, but ... in the end they all looked really lovely. I was pleased with them. "Thank you, Pinterest for the idea!"
I also did the calligraphy in the Bible to be presented to one of the young girls in our church who is off to Uni' next year. I was happy to have done that today.
In the afternoon I began to go through old files and made one heck of a mess - oh dear - and I will have to clean it up too! But in order to create order I begin with large scale mess and sort out, throw out or give away before any order is created. So, I will need a few days to sort this lot out!
Paddy went out again to continue digging holes for his trees. I have no idea how he manages in this heat.
Today I managed to sort out my bank card, as two amounts had been attempted to be drawn from my account 0f $770.04 and $604.24. Thankfully the bank intercepted and blocked my account. But what I did not realise was that I had to request a new card to be sent to me. I thought it was an automatic thing they would do after blocking my account and my confirming that it was not me drawing those amounts! So here I have been waiting and waiting for my card to arrive, which of course it has not. Anyway, the guy I spoke to today was most helpful and has couriered my new card to me instead of posting it, so I should get it this week.
I am getting excited as tomorrow morning our water order is being delivered. I cannot wait as the dirty clothes are piling up as are the dishes in the sink and dishwasher! Soon all will be well again. Whoo-hoo!
What lesson did I learn today? To work out a way that I do not make such a huge mess before creating order!
What am I grateful for today? That my new bank card is on its way now!
My saying for today is ...
