I only woke up at just after six o’clock this morning feeling like a wrung out wet rag!
Last night I had dream after dream and I vaguely remember Ken waking me up because I was hitting him in my sleep! Honestly, I wish I could just sleep quietly and peacefully – something I think Ken must wish for too, poor man!
I made myself a coffee and then went upstairs to my studio to have my Quiet Time. I waved to Paddy, who was awake and sitting up in his bed, as I climbed the stairs. Paddy was on his lap top or iPad, I think waiting for Tamryn and Matt’ to wake up before he got out of bed himself.
Och! On my To Do List today was one word – IRONING! – so I set about to do just that. I knew it would take me a while to do so I selected which audio book I would listen to as I ironed.
But before I began the ironing in earnest, Tamryn sat with me reading and explaining several legal forms for both Ken and me to fill in. Forms that are essential for us getting older and for if or when we need may need serious care. Next week I will set aside a day and fill in those forms as they really are important for us to have on file. I will make sure Ken does the same.
Matt’ went into Port Macquarie fairly early this morning to buy a whole lot of parts and bits and pieces that they needed to get the irrigation working again, and he got back here at lunch time, but he had some KFC on the way home so did not want any lunch here.
Paddy was too busy, too hot and not hungry to have lunch, and Tamryn was busy doing her nails and also was not hungry, Ken was sleeping and so I had an icy cold cooldrink instead of lunch! An easy round – no takers for lunch Mrs. Mo’!
I finished the ironing at lunch time then went up to my studio to check to see if the legal forms Tamryn had sent me via email were in my Inbox. They were, so I will complete them in a day or two’s time.
It was a pretty warm day, so I lay down on one of the couches in my studio to listen to my audio book but went fast asleep for about fifteen minutes! Yoh! My dreams last night certainly tired me out whatever they were!
In the afternoon I made a spaghetti Bolognaise with a salad on the side for our supper. And in the late afternoon Tamryn and I played a game of “Bang, You’re Out of Order!” and tried our hand at the Magnetic game too.
Ken and I sat outside watching Paddy and Matt’ work on the water pump – endeavoring to get it to pump harder in order to get the water to all the irrigation pods. Next step will be to try it out tomorrow.
Basically, straight after supper everyone slowly peeled off and headed for their respective beds to sleep. Paddy must have been whacked as he worked non-stop out in the heat, and it was all hard physical work too.
What lesson did I learn today? How incredibly short our lives really are.
What am I grateful for today? Family!
My saying for today is …
