Yahee! The first day of a brand-new week arrived at our front door in the wee hours of today! I look forward to filling it with lots of happy moments.
I got up and had my Quiet Time and then I had a mother and father of a battle to connect to the internet to upload my blog. Geepers! I turned off and on all the internet connections (three of them) plus my laptop, and just when I could do no more, it came back on with sincere apologies from our internet provider for that glitch! Thankfully all was well again.
I baked some cinnamon and apple muffins as I have a friend – Kathi – coming to visit me today. She had said yesterday that she would prefer to visit me in the afternoon but then at just before twelve noon, she texted me to say that she was on her way!
Luckily, I had some homemade soup in the fridge, so I hurriedly planned to have that with toast should she stay for lunch.
Shame, Kathi arrived carrying before her a beautiful little cardboard box with two delicious muffins therein for our tea! Bless her, so we had those with our coffee.
We spent a lovely morning just sitting and chatting and we did have that homemade soup with toast for lunch together.
Last time Kathi came over she had mentioned to me that she loved reading, so today I had pulled out some books of mine that I thought she may enjoy reading and she was so delighted about that.
Kathi left me at about half past two to avoid the school traffic as the buses fill the roads and move at alarming speeds!
In the afternoon I caught up with my emails et cetera that I had missed out on doing earlier because of the internet glitch, then I did some knitting and waited for my man to arrive back home.
Ken and Matt’ arrived here at about half past six I think and came in carrying this and that plus the large container with my embroidery stuff. Yahee!
But not so yahee! for all the rest of the stuff Ken decided to bring back as well – where to put it all? But hey, … when there is a will there IS a way!
I will tackle that problem tomorrow.
It was good to have Ken home again and he was soon in bed while I watched the last few minutes of “The Block”.
Talking of “The Block” Mich’ and Robert are coming over to watch it with us here tomorrow and we will have “Coffee and Dessert” together too.
I am so looking forward to our first Bible Study Group tomorrow as I am keen to see what they do and how they study et cetera.
What lesson did I learn today? To always be prepared!
What am I grateful for today? A new friendship.
My saying for today is …
