My goal this week: Keep the plants alive and the snacks plentiful.”

Wow! Can you believe it – we are into August already of this year? Time is simply whipping by for me.

I got up at four o’clock and shot through to the kitchen to quickly make a Milk Tart for Paddy so that Ken and Matt’ could take that to the farm with them this morning.

.

It is so nice to have an oven that actually works all the time - so it was a quick exercise for me to produce this Milk Tart for Paddy.

Matt’ came to fetch Ken at about ten o’clock – a little later than he had first wanted to, but off they went and they got to the farm safely.

I spent my day firstly going over the lesson I will be teaching in Sunday School tomorrow, then I sat in our lounge with the heaters on as it was rather chilly here today and damp too, with the odd drizzle falling - and I started knitting the wide lacey border – on side three of the baby shawl I am making.

While I knitted, I watched a lot of documentaries on police interrogations – something that has always fascinated me. Then I switched over to comedy as I simply love laughing – a good belly laugh does absolute wonders for my soul!

I also made a thick winter veggie and chicken soup in my slow cooker and had that with toast for my supper.

I had to make the soup as I had all the veggies chopped up ready to make into a soup, in the freezer, and what with the new boneless rolled shoulder of port I needed room to put it in our small little freezer compartment in my fridge.

I must admit I love, love, love having thick veggie soup as it was chilly and then I put myself to bed nice and early – I think it was seven o’clock – so I could snuggle into bed and watch on the i-pad some movies before succumbing to sleep.

I chatted to Ken this evening and all was well on the farm.

Mich’ and Robert are fetching me for church in the morning at about half past seven, and I think it is going to be another chilly day.

I was soon fast asleep.

What lesson did I learn today? To enjoy my day no matter what the weather was doing.

What am I grateful fo today? That I managed to make Paddy a Milk Tart.

My saying for today is ….
