I shot out of bed like a cannon ball this morning, ready for anything today hurled at me. I reckoned I could duck and let it hit someone else for a change! Just joking!
I went up to my studio with coffee in hand to have my Quiet Time and then to plan my day.
Today was going to be a heavy one for me as I had much planned for me to do. Oh, dearie me!
First, I had to unpack the chest deep freeze which was now solid ice and then sort out what I must cook and give to the dogs and what was still fine. The result of being without electricity for three and a half days.
I almost got frost bite to my fingers doing that little exercise, but at least I was getting somewhere. I cooked a beef roast, a corned beef, and divided all the chicken up into packets for the dogs evening meals.
Ken and I had planned to continue our study together on the Book of Daniel, but Ken was tired today, so he slept in. I woke him up several times as he had to get into the hospital to get his hand redressed again. Eventually he left at about midday, I think.
I kept my head down and worked and worked and worked until I had almost sorted everything out of the chest freezer and put back what needed to be put back.
I then did the ironing that was quietly and sneakily piling up. It was good to have that done again as I am now seriously up to date! A bit frightening all this efficiency, I'd say!
At about three o'clock this afternoon, a grumbling, growling storm went overhead leaving us with 4mm of rain. I was waiting for the next storm to arrive to bring the rain forecasted - which it never did. We were meant to get 20 - 40mm of rain today. Hmm! Either someone has got it very wrong again, or we may get it tonight when we are asleep. I am praying for the latter to be correct!
Ken got back home at just before five o'clock, and I had a Church Board Meeting on Zoom tonight at 6.30pm. Our meeting was later than usual as Tony (our pastor) had his working hours changed at the Old Age Home, so the meeting was scheduled for later to accommodate his new working hours.
I am so pleased with myself having packaged up lots of meals for the dogs, who I know will appreciate them. Slowly-slowly I am achieving the goals I set out to arrive at!
What lesson did I learn today? Head down and work until the job is done.
What am I grateful for today? The rain we received.
My saying for today is ...
